There sure is a lot of hurrying going on this time of year. Every where you go. If you to the grocery store, people are frantic to get home, busy, busy, busy. Not me I'm just as calm as a cucumber. Taking my time, looking at the People magazine on what or who Tiger has done lately and to see what's the latest with Oprah. When I realize I'm holding up the line I decide to move along, and the lady behind me has a buggy full. I by for the day's events, turkey sandwiches and the night's dinner. This lady has turkey and ham and stuffing, I thought we just had Thanksgiving. At any rate she must be feeding a football team, cause there's not an inch left in her buggy and she's slumped over it like she's about to have a heart attack just thinking about all the cooking she's gonna do when she gets home. I actually felt sorry for the woman. I felt like saying, go the the Fresh Market, it's already prepared for you and all you have to do it heat it up. No one will ever know. But then I kept my eyes on my own buggy and my mouth shut, not my business. My mamma's voice kept coming into my head, "mind your own business," but she looked so tired and this is suppose to be the most precious time of the year, when you spend time with your family and sit around just talking and visiting with them. Not sweating over a hot stove the entire time. Ladies, it's not 1959, let's make it easier on yourself and go to Heavenly Ham or the Fresh Market. There's to much that we put on ourselves as it is, we can make the cooking part a little easier. If you want to do a casserole do it a few days in advance and put it in the freezer, so when your company comes over your free to sit and visit and have fun. Be merry!
I was thinking as well about the wrapping of the gifts, if you are somewhere that does it for free, let them do it! That way all you have to do is put it under the tree when you get home. These days, I'm all for making life a little bit easier, what about you? Have a glass of wine, sit by a warm fire with the ones you love and have a very Merry Christmas.
